Getting dressed is a definite challenge for all expectant mothers. I think the bigger challenge is feeling cute, like actually cute lol. There's lots of maternity clothes out there and the easiest option is a dress but I've been striving to find pieces that will still work with a growing belly, look cute & make you "feel" cute. Well... thank heavens for peplums! I recently discovered they look so cute during pregnancy as well and if you don't believe me hopefully my pics will convince you.
Here I am in front of some beautiful old rustic doors. For the past 2 weeks I've been vacationing with my family in Nicaragua and my beautiful back drops are from one of the oldest cities in the country known as "Granada." With buildings dating back to the early 1800's, the rich culture and amazing architecture is by far the most captivating thing about this place. Needless to say the food doesn't fall behind! Delicious cuisine, fresh and typical of Nicaraguan culture blows my mind day day in and day out.
If you guys are wondering I am part Nicaraguan and so visiting my moms home country has been an exciting adventure. I can't wait to share more photos of other parts of the city in future posts!
Here's a photo of "Iglesia la Merced" right in front of the hotel we're staying at. It has been restored on the inside and the outside has been left with the effects of humidity seen on the face of the church preserving its unique look.
I didn't want to be disrespectful so I only took one photo in the church (discreetly.) I am obsessed with stained glass windows and was drawn to the beauty of this particular one showing the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus along with wise men and angels. After this Jo and I went outside to eat some quesillos (sorry no photos of the quesillos) I'm pregnant, it's hard to stop and take photos of my food now lol
And a quick close up of some the textures I had on my outfit. Once we left the church we sat outside for a bit after we ate to rest. Until next time!
So currently my family and I are in Nicaragua! This trip has been very adventurous and one of our adventures was a hike in the jungle and yes we literally went for a hike in the jungle lol. We had a guide take us around a trail they have in a place called "El Chocoyero" meaning where the Chocoyos (small parakeet birds) live. It was truly such a great experience!
Sometimes going on hikes, walks, or exercising can be difficult for us Apostolic Pentecostal girls who still want to be modest yet be athletically at peace. Luckily there is a company out there tending to our needs called Snoga Athletics. They provide modest comfortable and cute athletic wear. Seriously guys there stuff is pretty awesome! It's always really hot in Nicaragua and very humid so wearing leggings under a skirt is a little inconvenient yet I was surprised at how comfortable I was. The materials breathable and cute, totally convenient for us modest gals! With excellent product quality I totally recommend Snoga Athletics to anyone looking for modest athletic wear and I'm excited to share as I've had so many young ladies ask about modest althelic wear. Below are more photos of my journey.
It was liberating to just be able to do more while wearing a skirt that had leggings attached. Here I am heading towards the focal point of our hike. An amazing waterfall in the middle of the jungle. A water source for the local people.
Did I mention my skirt has some cool mesh material added for detail! My leggings also come with zippers on the side incase I ever want to change it up.
