Last Sunday my church had an event called, "Friend Day" which is pretty self explanatory ;) the day was great and many new faces joined us! For the day our church band chose the colors of black and white. Now we never dress in uniform or color coordinated but for this day we were told to come in "sync" lol (< my cheesy joke right there) Any who! The point was for it to "look" nicer I guess. So the most difficult thing then became, "how am I gonna make boring old black and white look great?!" Well a thought I've always had is that when done right B&W make a women look sophisticated and classy. I mean Coco Chanel knows what she's doing when the depiction of her brand uses those two colors ;) So I Coco Chaneled my way to my closet and remember I had a little treasure of a top from Look Book Store. TBH I got it at Goodwill for like $6 but if you like it you now know the brand. Then my faithfull black skirt that has the most perfect fit ever (Bebe) was my black skirt of choice. For my feetsies I wanted to keep it sophisticated and my new Nina Heels (also thrifted) got them brand new for $10 thanks again Goodwill :D kept that sleek look I was going for. Finally a satin bow belt with pearls and I totally think I nailed it or at least my sissy friend Cindy told me so lol over all if you have a white peplum and some classy heels this look should be a sinch for you to copy and make your own :) blessings to my lovely lady readers and go give thrifting a shot I honestly find some greeat stuff all the time :D
This outfit is one I looked forward to blog about because it was in every way me! Chic, edgy, classy and gold. The gold threading and embroidery on this skirt is magnificent. Stunning and perfect for this holiday season. Whenever I have statement pieces like this one I like to let that piece hold center stage so I used lots of black and slight gold accents. My heels (Gucci) have gold detailed buttons as well as the small black purse I paired this with (Forever 21) I thought my lace gloves would edge it up which I special ordered and threw my hair up in a side pony tail with a voluminous tees. Hopefully this can give you gals some good inspiration for the holidays as I have more ootd ideas to come :) And if you like the skirt don't forget to visit our store where you can check more photos. Blessings to my Thursday readers <3
