As I woke up today. I felt this overcoming sensation of bliss. I kissed my husband goodbye, saw my little girl go off to school, my toddler woke up and I held my 3 month old son in my arms while he so peacefully slept.
I don't have a million dollars in my bank account. In fact in my first year of marriage we were actually on a strict budget and when I see how far we've come I can't help but feel so blessed.
Often we talk as if our lives aren't that great. To my single ladies I know it gets lonely especially when you see happy couples everywhere, been there! To my financially struggling couples it gets better. To my gals with the desire to be mommy's and struggling, keep trusting the Lord. To my beauties struggling with body acceptance, you were made by the King of heaven and earth who see's your undoubtable beauty. To my sister struggling with depression & anxiety cast your fears on Lord. Depression is a liar he wants to take your happiness. Live for something else if you can't live for yourself. In my case I chose to live for Jesus and my family.
Where am I going with this?
Well, we all have a struggle of sorts. Weather it's emotional, physical, spiritual, financial, etc. We all struggle. It's a part of life and I remember being 15 and thinking why can't I just be rich or why can't I just be famous. I'm sure many have secretly said the same thing because the truth is we all at one point or another want a completely different life than the one we have. However with one thought in mind I plan to put all your fears at rest and tell you that you are one of the lucky ones.
If your reading this. If you have running water in your home, access to food, safety, the privilege to announce your faith publicly without being killed for it, you my dear are one of the lucky ones!
What I mean to say is that your so incredibly blessed. Beyond measure, beyond belief, and beyond comprehension. Let me tell you who's not so lucky... the 805 million people that do not have enough food to eat. The 22,000 children that die each day from hunger. The women, men, and children that can't freely worship Jesus Christ.
The ones who didn't wake up today but you most fortunate, did.
And when we think of all this we realize that we are one of the lucky ones.
I thank God everyday for little things like having carpet on my floors, or warm water to bathe with. These things we so carelessly take for granted are the very things that we should look at when we're feeling down, when we're feeling worthless, when were feeling like our life sucks. These things show you just how much value your life actually has and how blessed you are to live in such privilege. So put your worries aside for a moment and just thank God you're you.
